A resource for anyone who wants to work in fashion. Don't know Oscar de la Renta from Emilio de la Morena? Don't know Mariacarla from Viktoriya? Don't fret: with weekly profile updates of models, designers, stylists, and so on, you'll know who's who in no time. Add to that reviews (cultural enrichment and savvy is surely what makes good journalism), titbits from my struggle to make it into magazines and general fashion features and you've got yourself a blog..
She was born Heidi Rayder.
ReplyDeleteShe has appeared in the Victoria's Secret fashion show for four years and in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue twice. She has an extensive porfolio of covergirl appearances for numerous high fashion magazines and was once a VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards for Model of the Year nominee. She has performed in many runway shows and has been featured in numerous print ad campaigns. At the peak of her fame, she was an it girl according to The New York Times and GQ once named her the Sexiest Woman in the World.
She is well known for her print work for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issues (including the 40th Anniversary), The Gap holiday ads (along with her sister), a Godiva Chocolatier ad campaign and the 50th anniversary Ann Taylor ad campaign. She has appeared on the cover of US Vogue, Vogue Paris, Vogue Italia, British Vogue, German Vogue and Vogue España.
She is the wife of Michael Balzary, who is better known as Flea from the band Red Hot Chili Peppers, with whom she has one child. After giving birth in 2005, she took a hiatus from modeling until 2008. At first, she only returned to print work, but she has also returned to runway modeling in 2009. In her comeback, she achieved a Vogue España cover in February 2009. She has a younger sister, Missy Rayder, who is also a fashion model.
She appears here with Liisa Winkler on one of the Vogue covers, and with Eva Herzigova in the Bi-Try issue of Vogue.
I have seen your art work and contents of your blog. I like it. Here is a review article written by me, about a painting done by an American woman. I hope you would like to look at it.
